No Making Required!
You don’t have to be a maker to participate. Folks of all ages are invited to explore, discover, learn, and play at MakerFest.
MakerFest is a FREE event!
What can I expect?
MakerFest is an event where makers can show off what they have made and how they made it. Think of it as a big-show-and-tell event. It provides an opportunity for people to gather, connect, and explore the processes, products, and joys of making. MakerFest includes exhibits, demonstrations, workshops, and hands-on activities.
The Pierce College Science Dome, the South Sound’s only digital planetarium, will be open during MakerFest with FREE shows! The Science Dome is a relatively new cultural landmark unique to Pierce County, and a highlight of the MakerFest experience.
MakerFest is for folks of all ages. Please be aware that some Makers may have materials that can be a potential safety hazard. Makers may also display equipment that is fragile or expensive to replace. Young children must be monitored by a responsible adult at all times.
MakerFest is held in the Rainier Building of the Pierce College Fort Steilacoom campus. The address is 9401 Farwest Drive SW, Lakewood, WA USA 98498. Parking is free. For directions and a map of the campus see below.
