Exhibits should be family-friendly and feature your DIY process. Hands on and interactive displays are highly encouraged. Projects in the following categories are examples of what we are looking to highlight:
- Lego Mindstorms/Master Builders
- Metal Arts
- Hardware Hacks
- Arduino/Raspberry Pi
- 3D Printing
- Customized Bikes, Scooters, and Carts

MakerFest is a public event, the content of projects should be appropriate for viewing by all ages. Any project that is a potential safety hazard must be monitored by a responsible adult at all times.

Makers are expected to be present at their tables. It may be helpful to recruit someone to help you should you be out exploring yourself. Makers should be prepared to share what they have done, how they did it, and answer questions. We ask that you commit to staying for the entire event, 12pm-5pm.
No – Lakewood’s MakerFest is free for both makers and visitors.
Tables and chairs are provided, as is access to Wi-Fi. Electrical outlets are available but please bring your own extension cords or surge protectors if needed. Makers can start arriving two hours before the event, 10am, to set up.
No – MakerFest is not a science fair or a competition. There will be makers of all skill levels with a variety of creations. The goal for our MakerFest is to inspire and to be inspired.
No! MakerFest is an opportunity for people of all ages. Makers under the age of 16, who wish to exhibit their work, must have a supervising adult present for the duration of the event.
Makers are permitted to sell items and promote businesses/organizations; with defined parameters. Please see the Makerfest Exhibitor Factsheet.
Signing up is easy! Complete our online application. Registration runs Friday, April 1st through Friday, May 13th.
MakerFest is held in the Rainier Building of the Pierce College Fort Steilacoom campus. The address is 9401 Farwest Drive SW, Lakewood, WA USA 98498. Parking is free. For directions and a map of the campus see below.
